Microsoft Copilot Pullover Image Prompts: Keep an Umbrella Shadow Separate From the Hoodie’s Colour

Microsoft Copilot — HOODIE SHADOW NOTES. AI-generated editorial concept, not actual inventory.

An umbrella can cast a shadow over a hoodie without changing its actual colour. In Microsoft Copilot, describe the scene and garment separately so a darker shaded area does not become a fictional two-tone design.

Write down what the source establishes

Use a permitted reference with a clear view of the hoodie. Record its documented colour name and visible construction independently of the desired umbrella scene. If an area is already hidden, do not ask the generator to certify its true colour. Keep a real product-listing image available for shopping decisions; the new editorial setting explores a visual arrangement.

Request a believable scene without a redesign

Ask for natural shade while retaining the hoodie’s supplied design. State that there is no added contrast panel or printed patch. Do not require every shaded pixel to match an unshaded reference: that would confuse illumination with garment identity. A small amount of realistic tonal variation may belong to the scene, but an unexplained hard panel boundary deserves review.

Inspect both the shadow and the garment

Check the hood opening, cords, pocket and sleeves against the source. An umbrella shaft should not merge into a drawcord, and a shadow should not create a new seam. Microsoft documents image requests and modifications in Copilot, but prompts do not guarantee exact reference preservation. Keep the result labelled as a concept, and avoid weather-protection claims about either item.

Four copyable prompts

Use one prompt at a time. Replace the brackets with observations, permitted references or current written information. Review the answer before taking the next step.

Prompt 1

Create an AI editorial concept from this authorised hoodie reference under a plain umbrella. Keep garment construction and documented design unchanged; show plausible natural shade without a new colour-block panel.

Prompt 2

Revise only this hard shadow boundary [location] so it reads as lighting rather than a sewn contrast section. Preserve the supplied hood, cords and pocket.

Prompt 3

Make an alternative with softer ambient light, retaining the garment and umbrella as separate objects. Do not add logos or weather-performance text.

Prompt 4

Write a review checklist comparing this proposal [notes] with the source. Separate illumination differences, actual design changes and unresolved hidden details.

A worked example

A shaded chest region appears darker than the sleeve. You check whether it follows the umbrella’s light direction or resembles a new rectangular panel. When the concept adds a seam around it, you reject that change. The original catalogue photo remains the product reference; the revised editorial image does not establish waterproofing.

Does shade mean the hoodie is a different colour?

Not necessarily. Keep lighting observations separate from documented product colour.

Can the scene prove rain protection?

No. An umbrella scene establishes no performance specification for the garment.

Keep a useful final record

Save the reference and the specific decision together. Keep unanswered questions visible. If a fact changes, revise the affected step instead of treating an earlier suggestion as a permanent rule. These examples explain a proposed planning or review method; they are not reports of a physical garment test, a comparative model trial or a real photoshoot.

Microsoft documents image generation and modifications in Copilot. Controls and availability can vary by account and region. Official capability guidance, checked 5 November 2026. Generated imagery still requires review against the actual reference.

These are actual catalogue references. Compare the main garment with the shirt as an alternative outfit base or, where practical, an owned-layer styling reference. The shirt is sold separately; it is not an included part of a kurta or hoodie purchase.
