“Spend a little more to unlock a discount” is a decision about two baskets, not just a percentage. The added garment has a cost, and the offer may exclude particular items or cap the saving. Begin with what you intended to buy before the promotion influenced the selection.
Write down the offer before calculating it
Microsoft describes shopping and comparison features in Copilot, but availability and retailer information can vary. For this workflow, paste the exact cart lines, currency, offer wording and disclosed charges. Have the assistant show its arithmetic and verify the calculation yourself. The merchant’s checkout is the final price check.

Replace the bracketed fields with your own information and run the prompts one at a time. These are suggested workflows, not reported platform tests. Do not share payment details, passwords or unnecessary personal data. When a source cannot be accessed, supply relevant text and keep the access limitation visible.
1. Parse the coupon rules
Read this offer wording: [text and source]. Extract discount type, rate or fixed amount, minimum qualifying spend, cap, exclusions, expiry and combination restrictions. Mark unstated rules unknown. Do not invent an active code or apply a guessed interpretation.
2. Separate eligible and ineligible lines
Here is my basket: [items, quantities and prices]. Based on the supplied rules, separate eligible and excluded lines. Calculate qualifying spend only when eligibility is clear. Do not assume all clothing, taxes or shipping count toward a threshold.
3. Calculate the original basket first
Calculate the payable amount for only the items I intended to buy: [lines]. Show subtotal, supported discounts and disclosed charges separately. Keep unconfirmed shipping, tax or other fees as unknown instead of zero. Use [currency] throughout.
4. Test an added item
Compare my original basket with a second basket that adds [item and price] to reach [threshold]. Apply the supplied cap and rules. Show how much more or less I actually pay, not only the discount shown on the larger basket.
5. Distinguish percentage from capped saving

6. Check whether stacking is allowed

7. Keep the unwanted-item decision visible
This extra item was added only for a threshold. Compare keeping it, removing it and buying nothing now. Ask whether I actually want it. Do not describe a higher total as saving money solely because the displayed discount is larger.
8. Prepare the checkout recheck
Create a checklist of offer assumptions to verify in the real checkout: exact size, eligible subtotal, applied code, cap, charges and final currency. Do not apply a code, alter a live cart or place an order.
Worked example: saving ₹200 can still cost ₹100 more
Hypothetical arithmetic, not a TryBuy offer: the planned basket is ₹1,700. A coupon gives ₹200 off only when eligible spend reaches ₹2,000.
